La Grande Mosquée de Djenné
I've always been predominantly inspired by architecture but upon visiting the Great Mosque of Djenné in Central Mali, I was completely spellbound by the brilliance of its structure complete with elongated pillars, intricately created palm branches that double as beams, petite window roofs and minarets with ostrich eggs.
Color Inspiration
As if this UNESCO World Heritage Site were not enough, the culturally enriching atmosphere of being present on market day with local artisans and community members was an unforgettable experience for me. And it is one that I will always cherish as my memories of this day formed the foundation for creating and launch collection of scarves, each of them influenced by prints that I witnessed men and women wearing on this special day.
